Results:
20 out of 200 eyes (10%) had intraocular pressures less than 10mmHg. Only 10 out 200 (5%) had intraocular pressures less than 5mmHg, all of these had a formed anterior chamber. Incision incompetence was not identified in any of the eyes. Patterns of incision staining varied from minimal staining of the external lip of the corneal incision to up to 2/3 of the tunnel being stained with fluorescein. No association with degree of tunnel staining and IOP was found. In 80 out of 200 (40%) eyes we were unable to identify the degree of tunnel staining due to overlying uptake of fluorescein by the epithelium.
