Conclusions:
Although we have successfully excluded wound incompetence in all 200 eyes, the assessment of partial corneal tunnel staining proved difficult due to overlying uptake of the fluorescein by the epithelium. We suggest future studies utilise alternative objective ways of imaging the incision such as anterior segment optical coherence tomography.
