Results:
On the day of surgery, patients reported less discomfort in the LASEK eye versus Epi-LASIK eye. In the one day post-operative period, patients reported no statistical difference in comfort level (p>1.0). During days two to six postop. during re-epithelialization, patients reported significantly less discomfort in the Epi-LASIK vs. LASEK eye (p<0.5). By days six and seven postop., at which time re-epithelialization was complete, patients reported no statistically significant difference between the two eyes. There were no statistically significant differences in final visual acuity between the two groups.
