About the Presenter:
Maria Clara Arbelaez,MD,is an active Cornea and Refractive Surgeon and is the Medical Director of Muscat Eye Laser Center in Oman. Dr Arbelaez has spoken and taught widely on many refractive surgery topics during the last 15 years, at many international meetings. She has won best paper in session numerous times. Dr Arbelaez has published widely in the Journal of Cataract Refractive Surgery and Ocular Surgery News and is on the editorial board of Ocular Surgery News, Latin American Edition. Dr Arbelaez has also written several book chapters on Laser Refractive Surgery.
The Doctor is involved in the innovative design of ophthalmic surgical instruments and software. She is the ISRS/AAO International Council Representative for Oman. She received the achievement award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology in 2003. She also takes pride in being one of the organisers of the annual Ministry of Health Workshop for Private Healthcare in Oman.
