Purpose/Objective:
To determine whether pupil size at the start of capsulorhexis affected the outcome quality of our trainees' capsulorhexis in terms of degree of circularity and closeness to our desired diameter of 5mm. Previous studies have demonstrated that a large capsulorhexis size increases the chance of posterior capsule opacification, whereas a small capsulorhexis size can lead to capsulorhexis phimosis. It is important for the trainee cataract surgeon to become proficient in creating a capsulorhexis of appropriate size and circularity.
