Materials/Methods:
This randomised prospective study was done at DD Eye institute, Kota,India. A total no of 2000 eyes were studied over a period of one year, in the age group of 35 to 80 years. In all eyes 2.8 mm phaco incision was made & foldable lens was implanted. Routinely in 20% of the eyes, at the completion of phaco surgery, there was a problem in wound sealing. Repeated attempts to inject the saline caused wound distorsion, stretching & descemet detachment. In this new technique, we rehydrated the phaco incision & waited for 2 minutes, then we injected saline from side port. This time the wound sealed easily.
